ST. Paddy's Day Party
More than 50 of the NOFA Clan came to enjoy a Grand Evening or Irish-ness! There was serious Wearin’O’the Green. The Admiral and Cindy outdid themselves on some great Corned Beef and Cabbage with an aside of irresistible Grilled Ruben sandwiches. We all want Abigail Higgins’ Chocolate Cake recipe - it had a whole bottle of Guinness in it! It was fantastic. Thanks so much to all who brought Irish soda bread, brownies, cakes, salad etc., and great company. As they say in Ireland, “It Was Brilliant!”

We hold our annual Chili Party every January with proceeds going towards the ACO Scholarship fund. And there’s always a challenge for the best tasting chili! Each December a member hosts the NOFA Christmas Party, and those proceeds have gone to Children’s Hospital.

The Local ACO is setting up a ‘uniform closet’ which will hold any uniform pieces that no longer fit but are still in good condition. LCDR Mike Hopkins, Seattle ACO President, can be contacted on this at mike -dot- hopkins -at- noaa -dot- gov. They will sell for a very reasonable rate (something like $10/jacket) and proceeds go to the local ACO towards annual events.
